Are you building it solely for business use?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

No its for personal use - the limited company is vat registered.

Expert:  cmd2008 replied 4 years ago.
I am afraid that you can not make any claims for the VAT unless it is for business use.

Even if I am a builder building it myself?
Expert:  cmd2008 replied 4 years ago.
Even in those circumstances you can not claim. The limited company and yourself and too closely connected.

Thanks, can I make a personal vat reclaim on the materials bought and used for my home extension then? I know you can with building a new home from scratch just it sure about the extension?

if it being used for personal use, you can not make such a claim. Sorry.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Thanks, so you can not reclaim VAT on an extension like you can for a self build then?
Expert:  cmd2008 replied 4 years ago.
Sorry, no, as it's part of your existing residential property.
