Some time ago my daughter was claiming benefits. She has now been told that they overpaid her by £6,000. They have asked her to re-pay the amount, which she doesn't have. What can she do. Many thanks in advance

Obviously through no fault of her own a governmental mistake has created a financial problem for hemy daughter. What is her legal position. Would they accept any regular amount that she could afford to pay?

Expert:  Jo C. replied 4 years ago.
How much can she afford?

What form did the overpayment take?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

FOR JOMO1972

Do they accept it wasn't her fault? They don't say she failed to notify?
