Hi im not sure if you can point me in the right direction.

Customer Question

Hi im not sure if you can point me in the right direction. My girlfriend owned a council flat, she moved a boyfriend in,he wanted her to prove she loved him and he wanted to own half the flat, she agreed not really willingly but she did this with a solicitor, so then he owned half of the flat. She then had his child. the boyfriend is a bully in many ways he made her life unbearable, she went from a size 10-12 down to a size 0, in the end for her and the baby she had to leave the flat. She now rents a house on benifits, she has been in touch with land registery and some how she is not on the deeds at all, she has not been to a solicitor or sold the share she had left in the flat. she also paid all the mortgage and all the bills when she lived in the flat he paid nothing. is there anything that can be done to reinstate her in her flat.
many thanks terry

Hi
The starting point is to gather together evidence of her ownership of the property
If she purchased from the council then she can obtain a copy of the original Transfer document confirming her purchase.
A copy of the Office Copy Entries should show when the transfer into his sole name and on what basis.
Once she has this then matters may be clearer
the key is to identify how the property came to be in his sole name.
If there has been fraud then there is a good chance that she will be able to return to her property
