I am a chiropodist and wanted to change my professional insurance

Customer Question

I am a chiropodist and wanted to change my professional insurance provider. The provider I approached asked who I was currently with and when I told them they said that they would not take me on because they have an arrangement with my current provider not to poach their customers. Is that legal or is it a restrictive practice?

Sorry, I am afraid that they are entitled to refuse a risk for any reason they like. However it is worth making a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman. can I help further?
