I have been legally separated for over 20 years. I never divorced

I have been legally separated for over 20 years. I never divorced - but now wish to re-marry. I have the separation papers - now what do I do?

Hi
Thank you for your question.
If you wish to remarry then your only option is to issue a Divorce Petition based on the fact that you have lived apart for more than five years
The process is described here
https://www.gov.uk/divorce/file-for-divorce
and is likely to take between five and eight months
I hope that this is of assistance to you
