i took out ppi life insurance cover of my husband. the financial business did not inform the insurance provider that he had serious health issues including cancer nor seek advice whether to offer the cover or not. the insurance provider/ underwriter have said the financial business would not contact them unless a claim was made. and that they did not hold any medical records regarding my husband. also it was up to the financial business to interperate the policy . i have spoken to the insurance provider/ underwriter to establish validity of the policy as it merely states suicide as an exclusion to cover, they cannot rule out not honoring the policy without my late husbands medical records also their ppi department which is seperatefrom the financial business we took the loan from have said this policy should not have been sold to a person with such health issues please can you tell me if there is fault and where. i am aware of a court ruling stating the insurance contract is with the provider and not the company that sold it, the financial business have returned a answer that the policy was passed by their underwriter this cannot be true as the underwriters have clearly explained in the above comments from them. the whole argument centers around we would not have taken out a loan if it had not been foe the guarantees given of life cover. thankyou

is there fault in this case. we would never have taken out the loan without some sort of protection in light of my husbands illness. all of which was fully disclosed on application. i feel sure once a claim was made it would have been rejected upon medical reports.
