my husband died in February, he had a quarter share in a villa

Customer Question

my husband died in February, he had a quarter share in a villa worth approx. £120000, He left all his assets to me in an English will and no Portuguese will. Can we use the English will? What does it involve to register his death and transfer ownership?

Who is the legal owner(s) of the Portuguese villa please?

Josh-2010 :

... you mention he has a quarter share in the same?

JACUSTOMER-tr5r2nre- :

The villa is owned by my late husband and his siblings, all others happy for me to take on a the part ownership. We have contacted a solicitor in Portugal who quotes over 2000eoros to transfer ownership. Can we use my husband's English will to do this? By the way I misunderstood...we do not have probate yet and I understand nothing can be done til that time. My husband and three others all have fiscal numbers, all documentation available. Only asking for paperwork, no representation on court case. Seems a lot of money for this.
