Shared Electricity

Customer Question

We own a café that is in a shared building with only electricity supply the landlord has provided us with sub meters that we have to pay our bills off, unfortunately the other tenant is now refusing to accept what the meter says and is going to cut us off in 2 days we have asked our landlord for assistance and he is refusing to help in anyway. The payment amount we owe is half the bill but they are saying they don t care and are cutting us off anyway. What can we do?

Josh-2010 :

How is threatening to cut you off please? In whose name is the electric bill?

JACUSTOMER-7ijv4j88- : The electricity meter is in the other tenants name and they are cutting us off by switching the main fuse that feeds the cafe at the main meter which is located in there premises which we have no access to.
Josh-2010 :

Thanks. Presumably your lease gives you a right to electricity?
