I contacted rates mitigators, who charged their fee, and introduced a company , "Suspended Coffee Company Ltd ", as "ShortHold tenant. I advised that Rates are not payable by me, as the premises have been taken on a "ShortHold Tenancy", by the above company. Counclil accepted my plea, and cancelled the rates Liability, except a small ammended bill , which was paid by me, however, they casme back to me after 4 weeks, and said, that Rates are payable by my, as the premises are empty. I replied, that premises, empty, occupied or part occupied, it is the responsibility of the Tenant company, how it nwant to use the premises. Council has since,. maintained, that Rates liability mhas been reverted back to us, and should be paid, and have issued final notice.
