They are being rather unreasonable.

Under the sale of goods act you are entitled to demand that anything you purchase is fit for purpose. That does not mean perfect but it does mean reasonably good with reference to its age, history, and the price you paid. Of course, this is a relatively old car and you did not pay the most expensive price. However, unless faults were pointed out to you at the time that you purchased the vehicle, it is likely that a court would think it reasonable that it lasts longer than a few days to a week.

Realistically, you will struggle to recover everything paid to the dealership but you do have a claim for the repairs.
