Hi.

My name is Jo and I will try to help with this.

In order to give you an answer tailored to your circumstances, I will just need to ask you some preliminary questions so that I can consider your position from all angles.

What is the age of your son?

Thanks.

I'm not sure if there is any reason you think it may not have been legal?

A security guard is a civilian like any other. They have no special powers. Your son would have been entitled to refuse to comply with this request but he did not so the actions were done with consent.

It might have been possible to argue that it was inappropriate if he was a young child but he is an adult so that falls away.

I'm very sorry if this is bad news.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need to know anything else.
