If someone is offering for a consideration of £40,000 to dispose

Resolved Question:

If someone is offering for a consideration of £40,000 to dispose of the Freehold on a property, do they imply that they are offering to sell the property for £40,000?

Hello, welcome to the website. My name isXXXXX can assist you with this.

tdlawyer :

Yes, this is what it sounds like, either that - or they're offering to sell it for a fee of £40,000, which wouldn't ne your average freehold property sale!

Customer:

Ok. Seems quite low a price to me for a studio apartment, so it's quite likely that that is just the fee...

tdlawyer :

That's unlikely too .. I would expect a fee of about £1,500 maximum! It might be worth you getting in touch with them and clarifying things - there might be a zero missing somewhere!

Customer:

:) Okay, I'll get in touch with them. Thanks. Cheers.

tdlawyer :

Thank you!
