What are the risks to me as a LTD builder in taking a client to the small claims court for £2,000 bill they refuse to pay?

Hi.

Thank you for your question. My name is Jo and I will try to help with this.

What risks are you thinking of please?

If I loose will I have to pay their costs?

Expert:  Jo C. replied 3 years ago.
Thanks.

Yes, but they will be a very low sum. This is a small claims court sum and so it will be probably around £50 -£100 to sue upon this matter.

Even if they use a solicitor they would only get fixed costs of around £50 for that.

Costs are not usually prohibitive at the small claims court.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need more information.
