Does the fact that there is a will have to be published in the London Gazette and a local paper after probate and before the deceased assets are distributed?

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

No, there is no legal requirement to do so but executors may do so to reduce the risk of creditors frommaking claims against the executor if they distribute the estate and it then transpires that money should have been retained to pay off creditors.
