Its always a good idea to have representation but you won't get legal aid for it unless they are going to arrest you and there is no basis to do that.

If you are prepared to pay privately then it would be a good idea.

Its never a good idea to contest these Dogs Act matters lightly. If you contest and lose then the Magistrates will think you are living in denial about your dog and impose a Control Order with severe conditions as opposed to more reasonable ones.
