I am male with business assets. I have been married for 7

Resolved Question:

I am male with business assets.
I have been married for 7 yrs.
My wife is divorcing me , basically , she says I am a bully and she feels insecure.
Can she claim 50% of my total assets or just 50% of the increase in my assets since we have been married ??

It all depends on what the court thinks is fair and equitable. The courts have the power to take into account all your assets, even the ones you owned before marriage.

The usual starting point is 50/50 but the final decision will depend on the personal circumstances of both parties, the length of marriage, children etc.

Hope this helps
