can my wife obtain a copy of my will without my consent ?

Buachaill :

1. Before you die, your wife cannot obtain a copy of your willl without your consent as this is a private document and you should ensure that your solicitor retains it and does not give out any copy to anyone. After you die, a will becomes a public document once the will is admitted to probate. This is necessary in order to wind up your estate. At this stage, your wife will be told the contents of the will, but not be given a copy as only the residuary legatee is entitled to a copy.
