Hello, welcome to the website. My name isXXXXX can assist you with this.
Have court proceedings been issued against you?
It's likely to be too old now for them to do anything about.
Debts have to be sued for normally within 6 years of the right to becoming entitled to sue, or within 12 years in some exceptional cases. You're well over both time limits.
It is just a letter but they say if we do not reply they will keep sending letters till we do, I am 72 and my whife is 65 and she is worred
Okay, then this sound like harassment. You can contact the police and I expect they will have a word with them, or alternatively, you would be able to issue a county court claim against them for harassment.
Or you could just ignore them.
I dont whant my whife to keep reciving leeters as she is not well at the moment, as this is upstting for her as it's in her name.
Then the best thing is: speak to the police, as ANY form of harassment is a now a criminal offence. If this doesn't stop them, then you could sue them in the county court for an injunction to prevent them sending further letters.
What you must not do though is accept that the debt is due in writing or make a part payment if the debt is already too old to be sued upon/
Ok is that hard to do?
This will just cause the time 6/12 years, to start running again, from the date of admission or part-payment.
Can I ask whether you are happy with the service this morning please?
And is there anything else I can answer about this?
Not at the moment
Thanks - have yourself a good day.
You to and thank you
Hi Thanks for the info, we are just going to leve it until the next letter comes and then go to court to stop them arriasing us, I only said the dept was 15 years old as we whent through all our paper work and we have nothing that relates to what we are being asked to pay.
Older paper work has been shreaded years ago.
