My business creates unique and personalised clothing. Can I insist on a no returns policy for consumers, so that I do not lose money, not being able to resell the product?

Hello

tdlawyer :

My name is XXXXX XXXXX can help you with this.

tdlawyer :

Are you selling via mail order or via the internet or from shops?

Customer:

Hello, I'm NickI'm selling exclusively over the internet and only in the EU initially

tdlawyer :

Hi Nick.

tdlawyer :

I'm afraid you cannot do what you're hoping to do. Customers in the EU will have the right to return mail ordered items under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations (in the UK), or its equivalent in other Member States of the EU.

tdlawyer :

They will always have at least 7 days to cancel the contract and return goods to you for a full refund - including postage.

tdlawyer :

A lot of companies try (and often succeed) in charging postage still, but technically, under the UK regulations, even that does have to be refunded. Fortunately, few people sue for the couple of pounds postage - but they could!
