If you did not want it or need it then you could claim back the cost of this
You would first need to write to the lender and make a formal complaint
This will be investigated by the complaints department and the lender will formally respond.
If they find for you, then indeed you should be able to claim back payments.
If they do not uphold your complaint then the nest stage is the Ombudsman
They offer a free and independent service and can investigate your complaint
But they wont do that until the bank have given a formal final response
