If you have got married in the seychelles and only have a certificate

Resolved Question:

If you have got married in the seychelles and only have a certificate saying " 1989, year of marriage in the left hand corner and the place you were married and by whom" and this was not registered in this country, does this mean I am not legally married in this country and do not need to seek a divorce ?

If the marriage was lawful in Seychelles, then it will be automatically recognised here and you do not need to register your marriage again in the UK.

So, you would be legally married and need to seek a divorce here.
