Hello and thanks for using Just Answer.

My name is Al and am happy to assist you with your enquiry.

Your Solicitor would normally carry out the searches for you, and it would be normal for the client to pay for these upfront. Are you saying that this is not what has happened?
Have you paid anyone any fees to carry out the searches?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Susan,

Thanks for your reply.

Well, you will be responsible for any searches that have already been done. These should have cost no more than £350.
What exactly are they asking a £1,000 for and is this your Solicitor who is asking for this money?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Susan,

You are responsible for any searches that have already been carried out. You should ask for a breakdown as to the cost of each search, as £1,000 seems very high!

If you are not proceeding, you don't have to pay for any further searches.

I hope this answers your question.

Kind Regards
