Hi Alex, I have a 17 year daughter who works part time at Macdonalds.

Customer Question

Hi Alex, I have a 17 year daughter who works part time at Macdonalds. On Friday she was asked to fetch some more bags for the fries. To do this she had to climb a step ladder up to a shelf more than 6ft high. There was no one else sent to assist her so she had to descend with her arms full. She fell and injured her back and her left hand side of her body. We spent 4 hours at A&E where we were told she had soft tissue damage. Do we have grounds for a claim?

Alex Watts : Hello my name is Alex and I will help you with this. Please note that I am a working Solicitor and may be on and offline as I have to attend Court and meet with clients, even at weekends. As such you may not get an instant response when you reply, but rest assured I will be giving your question my immediate attention upon return You do not need to wait here as you will get an email when I reply.
Alex Watts : Has she been trained or given instruction on how to use the ladder please?
JACUSTOMER-6f8igpjp- : No
Alex Watts : Potentially then they are negligent.
Alex Watts : If no one showed her how to use it and did not supervise or assist there may be a claim.
Alex Watts : You should make sure this goes in the accident book and then speak to a personal Injury lawyer,
Alex Watts : depending on her injuries will depend on value if a claim.
Alex Watts : But a typical claim where the injury lasts for 3 months would be valued at around £1500
Alex Watts : Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?
JACUSTOMER-6f8igpjp- : It was recorded in the accident book
JACUSTOMER-6f8igpjp- : Can you recommend a personnel injury lawyer ?
Alex Watts : Sadly I not allow to, but if you google it there are plenty out there.
Alex Watts : I am sure you have seem the tv adverts!
Alex Watts : Can I help with anything else today?
JACUSTOMER-6f8igpjp- : http://www.national-accident-helpline.co.uk/personal-in
Alex Watts : They can help yes.
JACUSTOMER-6f8igpjp- : would you use http://www.national-accident-helpline.co.uk :-)
Alex Watts : I can't recommend but the firms on tv etc are good
JACUSTOMER-6f8igpjp- : Sorry didn't realise you had sent the link , think we sent at the same time.
Alex Watts : Indeed
