what is the next step when a person has been sent to prison for 2 years, for so call grooming young girls of 15 yrs old but is going to be released after a year on good behaviour, what happens over the next year of that persons sentence.

Hi.
Thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I will try to help with this.
He serves the remaining part of his sentence in the community on licence probably with fairly standard conditions.
Such a person does have to comply with reasonable requests of his probation officer but it is fair to say that they are often fairly limited reflecting resources.
He will obviously be subject to the notification requirements so the police will be aware of him and will monitor any suspicious activity.
If he isn't on a SOPO then those conditions don't apply.
