Some one has been accused for a minor plagerism offence and has been removed from her programme. It is sad as she is a highly intelligent student and this is her last year. She is on a degree course for three years. Outstanding student. The breach does not account for more then 5 or 10 %. is there any help for her. we also need help to write a polite letter to the chancellor as their approach was extremely harsh.
not in terms of plagiarism but guilty of not referencing correctly
Have you appealed the decision please?
the appeal was in july as the student is an international student she was not present so they proceeded without her. we can only write to the chancellor and this is the help we require
I see. I can't be instructed as this is against site rules.
You can draft the letter and I can review it that is ok
But I can't draft for you I am sorry to say
Have you appealed to the Ombudsman?
but that should have been stated when i wrote this
no i have not written to the ombudsmen
There is a disclaimer that states: ". Posts are for general information, and are not intended to substitute for informed professional advice (medical, legal, veterinary, financial, etc.), and do not establish a professional-client relationship"
Would you like details of the Ombudsman?
yes please and are there any acts that i could write in the letter
Section 13 of the Sale and Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 by failing to act with all reasonable skill and care.
But write the letter and I can review it for you
how do i send this to you
You can attach it here or email email@example.com
is there any act to do with duty of care
No, that is in negligence, there has been no negligence here
you see the student sponsored and the sponsors were never notified as they would have given her support and accompanied her
would that not be considered as negligence
No, this is a contractual issue not negligence issue
thats right the sponsors have a contract with this particular unversity
however when i write the letter is this a confidential sight as i do not want any one seeing the letter
No - it is a public site.
But you can email the letter to firstname.lastname@example.org
That goes to admin, who will forward it onto me
as the letter that i will be writing will be on behalf of the sponsors
Yes of course. So you should email it to the address above
do i need to right your name in the email
No - the moderator will forward it to me
thats fine and please do not send to the sight but to my personal email
I can not do that
All communication must be online via this question, site rules
but i cannot have the letter displayed on the site
No that wont be
I will have the letter
if there are changes how will this be dealt with
I will post the changes on this question
But I wont disclose personal details
okay thats fine. i will send this either end of today or by tomorrow. thank you kindly for your help
ok. It normally takes a day for admin to forward to me, so you may not get a response straight away
