I have received a letter from a solicitor, demading that I repay a huge debt to an overseas bank.
I have no accounts with the named bank and as the debt they refer to is in excess of AED 2 million, I am very concerned.

Alex Watts :

What country is the bank in please?

Customer:

UAE

Alex Watts :

Ok - and this is for a loan or something?

Customer:

they say it is for a credit card debt

Alex Watts :

Ok - and the agreement you have was covered by UAE law ?

Customer:

I do not have any dealings with this bank

Alex Watts :

Ok - have you ever been to UAE? Do you know what the debt is for?

This means that they can not issue proceedings here in the Uk, even if you owe the debt

I would just ignore it.

Alex Watts :

What is the firms name? Are they based in the uk?

Customer:
