my 17 year old son recently crashed his friend's car and wrote

Resolved Question:

My 17 year old son recently crashed his friend's car and wrote it off. My son had a provisional licence and no insurance. His friend knew that he had taken the car. Who should pay for the car?

Alex Watts : Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.
Alex Watts : Its bad news I am afraid - your son should.
Alex Watts : This is because he crashed the car and wrote it off, he was negligent
Alex Watts : Whilst I accept there may be some contributory fault on behalf of the owner for knowing that he had taken the car, the fact remains your son crashed it,
Alex Watts : Had it not been for your son driving then it would not have crashed.
Alex Watts : I am sorry if this is not the answer you want and certainly not the one I want to give you, but I have a duty t be honest.
Alex Watts : Can I clarify anything for you about this today please ?
