Hello and thanks for using Just Answer.
My name is ***** ***** am happy to assist you with your enquiry.
A Will becomes a public document once Probate has been granted. In such circumstances, a copy can be obtained for a nominal fee from the Leeds Probate Registry.
Probate is normally required where an Estate is valued at over £5,000.
If you google "Leeds Probate Registry", it provides all the details you will need to search for a copy.
I hope this assists you and answers your question.
Kind Regards
AL
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I had already received a copy of the will from Leeds.

What I wanted was the exact amount of the estate left by Thomas McLelland..

The will only tells me how the estate is to be disposed

Hi Jean,

Thanks for your reply.

Well, you can obtain a copy of the Probate from Leeds also, and it will say on there how much the Gross Estate and Net Estate are valued at.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards

FOR ASTON LAWYER

Thank you for your latest reply.

I shall write to the Probate Office in Leeds asking for a form to be sent to me to make a request. It is always such a long roundabout affair. I suppose I could try e mailing them.

Hi Jean,

Thanks. I'm afraid they won't accept an email from you :-(

If you are happy with my Answer, I would be grateful if you could leave positive feedback.

Kind Regards
