EE gave me a new contract over the phone despite me explaining

Customer Question

EE gave me a new contract over the phone despite me explaining that I could not understand what they were saying as the phone line was so bad. From the conversation I understood they were going to get the fault on the line repaired. Instead they gave me a new contract and did nothing about the faulty line. As the phone was unusable and had no broadband connection I asked them to cancel it, they now expect me to pay a cancellation charge as I have not completed the 12 month contract when I didn't even know I had a new contract. Do I have to pay them.

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.

Alex Watts :

How long ago did you get the new contract please?

JACUSTOMER-0u6vht0h- :

Hello.

Alex Watts :

Hello

JACUSTOMER-0u6vht0h- :

Hello, I got the new contract on 6/12/13 and wrote to cancel it in April 2014. I reported the faulty line 3 times during that time.

Alex Watts :

Did they accept to cancel it without charge when you called?

JACUSTOMER-0u6vht0h- :

No, they told me at the time there would be a cancellation charge.

Alex Watts :

Ok - did you not contest that at the time?
