1. About six weeks. Essentially, the Law Society will give their opinion on the issue within three weeks and then it will be up to a negotiation with the parties to see if it can be sorted out. Then if there is no agreement, they will simply issue a ruling. Be aware that the Law Society of Ireland is largely staffed by volunteers. So very often if there are delays, it is purely because the person dealing with the dispute is finding it difficult to get a response quickly from one side or the other. But the "excessive fees" jurisdiction is quite quick as normally matters are straightforward.
