My daughter had an accident in a Sainsburys store on Friday

Resolved Question:

My daughter had an accident in a Sainsburys store on Friday last week, she slipped on a wet floor landing heavily on her knees, there was no wet floor sign in view although a cleaner had been working in that area, she has had to seek medical attention and is going back today to see if she needs an MRI scan as she is still in a lot of pain and having difficulty in getting around, she is self employed and has had to turn work down due to the pain. She was attended to by staff in the store and asked to have the accident recorded they did not seem keen to record it saying is it really necessary, eventually the duty manager came back with a piece of paper and took some notes. I would like to know how does she stand legally and is it enough to persue for a claim.

No liability was admitted at the time the floor had been cleaned and was not apparent that it was wet

Ok - then yes it sounds like there is a claim

They have a duty to take reasonable steps for visitors.
