Aunt's death, can I ask for her legal documents? (UK)

Customer Question

Hi, I don't know if I should be proactive in dealing with my aunt's will? And if so, how? My aunt has died in London, UK, her friend has been speaking to me now and then as she had been caring for her part time, before getting her into a good home on my behalf. She told me she had named me as Aunt's next of kin as my surviving Aunt,(deceased Aunt's sister) who I care for ,is mentally incapacitated due to old age and I am her POA and main carer. I don't kno w if i should be asking this friend/person for my aunt's death certificate, or how to proceed in any way...I am Scottish and live in Scotland.
