Resolved Question:

I have had many years experience as an internal auditor. Can I now contract to the same firm as an auditor, even though I do not have a qualification?

Hello,

Yes, this is fine as long as you are not signing off on the statutory auditor holding yourself out as a qualified auditor, see the requirements here:

http://www.icaew.com/en/technical/audit-and-assurance/gain-audit-rights/how-to-apply-for-the-audit-qualification/gain-audit-rights-in-the-uk-as-an-acca

I would suggest that you call yourself a "consultant" rather than an "auditor" to avoid any accusation that you are holding yourself out as a qualified auditor.

May I help further?
