Customer Question

Hello, good afternoon. My Father will soon require medical attention in a nursing home. He owns a mobile home, he lived there for eleven months per year. Can the property be sold to pay for his care?
Many thanks,
L White.

Which assets? all he has is his mobile home and his pension, He has nothing else. He lives there 11 months of the year and with us for the other month. We do not know how much the mobile home is worth.

Hi
As a best guess is it worth less than £20,000?

Yes it is worth about £20,000. Would it be classed differently to a house as it is not a permanent structure and can be moved to a different location?

Hi
Then there is no cause for concern - the value of the asset is not such that a sale would be forced - and indeed it would be unlikely to be worthwhile given the fees which the Park owners could charge
I hope that this is of assistance - please ask if you need further details
