Alex Watts :

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.

Alex Watts :

If your gross monthly income is over £2,657 you won't get legal aid. 'Gross income' means before tax and national insurance are taken off and it excludes certain social security benefits. If you have more than four children, this limit goes up by £222 for the fifth and each additional child.

Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?

JACUSTOMER-qxfvr4hm- : My son is a self employed patio builder and landscape gardener. He has to pay expenses so when is his income calculated? At the end of each year or at the end of a month.
JACUSTOMER-qxfvr4hm- : How much Family income supprt would he be entitled to if he earned £10000 per annum from his business. He has one daughter and is separated from his wife who has the daughter at weekends? Fairfax
Alex Watts :

Have you been to the above calculator? If he earns £10,000 pa he should be ok

Alex Watts :

Does that help?

JACUSTOMER-qxfvr4hm- : Do you know how much income support for one daughter aged 6 would be?
Alex Watts :

No, but you can go to a benefit calculator:

Alex Watts :

Alex Watts :

Does that help?

JACUSTOMER-qxfvr4hm- : No I don't understand the calculator. My son was born on 3 10 89 and has a daughter aged 6. He is self employed builder but earns less than £200 per week. How much can he claim?
Alex Watts :

Ok - this is a separate question to the one you asked, so I have tried to help you.

Alex Watts :

I am not a benefit lawyer, but try this benefit calculator instead
