They told me that i will receive a letter asking a fine from Retail loss prevention. Security guards took my all details. I am a student in london. I am worried will it affect on my visa. If I pay the fine is it over? I am confused I read it is better to ignore .i am worried will it be recorded. I will extend my visa. And when I fill the form about criminal shall I declare about this case. Please advise me. And I am travelling for holiday for three weeks. Can I travel? The security guy told that I will receive a letter during three weeks. am i on the police database?

Thank you for your question.
You don't have to worry about this. The fine they're talking about is a civil penalty through a scheme backed by retailers to prevent shoplifting. If you pay the fine that will be it.
This won't affect your visa, record or anything if the police aren't involved. Pay the civil penalty and put it down to experience. If you don't pay it, however, they will prosecute and that will affect you.
Hope that helps.
Please leave a positive response so that I am credited for my time.

Yes, you can pay when you come back if you'll be back about the same time. And no, you don't have to say you have a criminal record on your visa extension as you don't have one.
