Customer Question

Hi - I have recently been had a DRO granted, I spoke to my bank and asked them to stop payments ( under the act 55 continuous payment authority act 2009 ) from a payday loan company and then one of the companys whos name I gave to the bank took £394 on Christmas day leaving me with no money to pay the rent! I complained to the bank and the company, the bank said they can do a monitor of the payment as it was pending - and I would be refunded, since then the company have put the money back into my account and now its looks like a duplicate payment has been put in for the same amount, I didn't realise I thought it was just bounce back from the bank as it was pending. What should I do now? I feel like its the banks error and it was in the first place but im also an honest person, help!

Alex Watts : Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.
Alex Watts : For now please let me know if the bank are refunding you?
JACUSTOMER-o8otur03- : Yes they are
Alex Watts : Ok.
Alex Watts : What is it you want to achieve?
JACUSTOMER-o8otur03- :

the bank have refunded me and so have the loan company - is this correct?

Alex Watts :

Right I see what you mean.

Alex Watts :

No this is clearly a mistake.

Alex Watts :

What you need to do is put the money in a savings account.

Alex Watts :

You can't keep it as it does not belong to you.

Alex Watts :

As you know the DRO gives you some breathing space.

Alex Watts :

You therefore need to contact both of them and ask them to sort it out between yourselves.

Alex Watts :

Clearly you cant owe it twice, so you will have to pay one of them back

Alex Watts :

Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?

Alex Watts :
