Alex Watts :

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.

Alex Watts :

For now please let me know whether it was Council or private please?

Customer :

It was council

Alex Watts :

Ok. Let me look some things up

Customer :

Okay

Alex Watts :

Which Council was this?

Customer :

Barnet Council

Customer :

Are you there?

Alex Watts :

Yes just looking things up

Customer :

Anything come up at all

Alex Watts :

Checking

Alex Watts :

It takes time

Customer :

what is it you checking?

Customer :

hello

Alex Watts :

Sorry I was looking on their website.

Alex Watts :

The bad news is that they do not have any grace period. I have also called the Council to check this and they confirm the same.

Alex Watts :

The law is going to be changed shortly to allow 10 mins or so for double yellows but that has not happened yet.

Alex Watts :

Some Councils have a policy of say 5 minutes over as a grace period but this is not a legal requirement.

Customer :

So can not appeal or challenge it?

Alex Watts :

Having checked the Councils website I can confirm there is no grace period and this has been confirmed in my call to the Council just now

Customer :

so that means?

Alex Watts :

There is nothing stopping you from appealing but sadly I do not think it would be upheld. There are no grounds, there is no grace period.

Customer :

ok

Alex Watts :

I am sorry if this is not the answer you want and certainly not the one I want to give you, but I have a duty to be honest

Alex Watts :

Can I clarify anything for you about this today please/

Customer :

its alrite

Alex Watts :

I am sorry, I know its unfair.

Alex Watts :

But if you appeal and lose you may have to pay more if you lose the discount

Alex Watts :

Its a shame the new law is not in yet

Alex Watts :

Can I clarify anything else for you?

Alex Watts :

If this answers your question could I invite you rate my answer before you leave today.
