I was told any documonts use in evidence had to be signes by a person

Yes, but it has been ?
A claim form can be signed by a solicitor on behalf of the clients.
A claim can be brought in the name of a company as companies are sometimes contractual parties and so the proper entity to sue.
All this comes down to is that they tried to sign it off with the company name and realised this didn't follow procedure so their solicitor counter signed. They are free to do that.
Sorry if that is bad news.
Can I clarify anything for you?

Thanks.
I am sorry but a court would not throw it out for that reason.
At the very highest point they would be asked to sign it.
