Ask a Law Question, Get an Answer ASAP!
Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.
Please let me know whether it was a gift to you or the dog was always going to be returned?
A gift - never ever any intention of her being returned - just interim visits.
Did they say it was a gift or did not intend to get the dog back?
Just said "we will leave her with you if you are happy as she is happy here and it would be unfair for us to take her with us with the long hours we work. We would still like to see her now and again and maybe take her on holiday with us". Which we agreed to. But the understanding was that her new home would be with us.
Can someone come back in to chat please?
If his is the case then it is a gift.
You do not need to give it back
In order for them to get it back they would need a Court order.
You can say to the court it was a gift and the Court can decide who they believe.
Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?
We will proceed on the basis she was a gift and see what transpires
Can I help with anything else today?
