Hi
Thank you for your question.
My name is Clare
I will do my best to help you but I need some further information first.
Do you wish to take on dealing with the finances yourself?

Clare - No I do not want to actually handle the finances, but would

like to know what monies are being paid by the authorised body

and what outgoings are being made. I feel, being next of kin,

that I should be made aware officially of what is being paid, and

also whether my sister is entitled to some pocket money.

Surely someone should be able to let me have a quarterly report?

My sister has dementia and in care, and all I have been told is that

her finances are being managed.

Hi
I am afraid being the nearest surviving relative (next of kin) does not give you any legal rights and not only is there no requirement for you to be given these details but legally you cannot have them as it would be a breach of confidentiality.
However an annual report DOES have to be made to the Court of Protection to ensure that your sisters finances are being properly managed.
I am sorry not to be able to give you the answer that you wished for - but legally you are not entitled to the information I am afraid
Please ask if you need further details

Thank you for this information. Would this protection order

only handle her pension allowance, or will the monies in her

bank also be utilised?

Expert:  Clare replied 2 years ago.
Hi
It will cover ALL her finances
