I have today recieved a final electricity bill from e.on,,,,forr £488,10 for a property we left in march 2009? On calling e.on Iam informed this is a final bill for gas used ffrom 30//10/2013 to 21/01/2014???.they say they have waved the electricity bill of £58 ??? ,I am most confused and blinded by jargon and for my sanities sake requiqe expert help. May I ask when you left the property did you contact the company to advise them of a forwarding address and either provided them with meter readings or at least cooperated with them to obtain meter readings please?

I note you left the property in 2009 but the bill you have received relates to a period in 2013-2014, several years after you left the property. I also note you are confused by their billing. Is this what you are confused about?

Lastly was the property rented or owned by you? If the latter was it sold?

It's my opinion that the people at Eon are guilty of missmanaging my. account.why wait so long to get the info they needed

They could. Have. written or phoned.why wait 16months.they said they had written off the electric bill.well they can write the gas bill. Off too.

Thank you for the above. I am confused by the dates you refer to. You mention you left the property in 2009 but that the charges relate to a period in late 2013-early 2014. How could you use energy in 2013-2014 in a property you left in 2009?
Did you own or rent the property you left in 2009?

If you can kindly clarify the above two points I will be able to confirm the legal position on the above. I look forward to hearing from you
