I have recently signed a letter from my partners solicitor

Customer Question

Hello , I have recently signed a letter from my partners solicitor ,which basically States that £40,000 ,which was used to renovate a house ,would have to be re paid if we no longer co - habit.
I was bullied into signing this letter in front of the Solicitir by ,my partner her mother and father .
At the time of signing I was on very strong medication - diazepam, the letter was produced some 12 months after the spending of the £40 k had started .
Within 2 weeks of signing,my partner ,informed me she was a lesbian ,and longer wanted to be with me.
Can I claim the letter to be void under these circumstances ??

Hi
Thank you for your question.
My name is Clare
I will do my best to help you but I need some further information first.
How much is the house worth and how much is outstanding on the mortgage?
How much has the work increased the value of the property?
Clare
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi, the property is worth approx £150,000, there is £80,000 outstanding on the mortgage, but holds an £1,500 early repayment clause.
The value has increased by approx £50,000
My concern is that I've been stitched up, why has it taken 12 months to produce the letter , then two weeks after signing , she comes out with this bombshell
Regards
Wyn

Hi
What was the original agreement regarding the money?
Clare
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi , there was no agreement , my partners father said he would pay for the renovation of the property for us . He wanted to help us get a good stsrt in life . There was no mention of this agreement until the work had been completed - 12 months on . 2 weeks later , it was all over
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The agreement states that , if we no longer co habit Then 40k is to be paid back.(clause 1)
It also states that , if the property is sold , then 40k is to be paid back from the sale proceeds . (Clause2)

Why is it taking so long to reply, I first asked the question on Tuesday at 3.00pm ??

I marked it urgent ,hence the increase in cost !!
