My 89 year old mother has just been diagnosed with terminal

Customer Question

My 89 year old mother has just been diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer. She has an interest only mortgage & owes in the region of £17000. Would it be beneficial to pay off this debt prior to her death, or should I leave as is, & carry on paying monthly instalments. I just want to avoid any problems for myself, being next of kin, in subsequent sale of her property

Are you able to pay off the outstanding amount now and does your mother have a life insurance policy?
