I am working on behalf of a number of high net worth

Resolved Question:

Hi,
I am working on behalf of a number of high net worth middle eastern individuals some of whom are interested in applying for a UK Tier 1 Investor visa. I have a quick question......Would they be able to invest their capital in a UK REIT? I know that they are not able to invest directly into property related companies but is an Investment Vehicle such as a Real Estate Investment Trust permissible?
Thanks,
Mathew

Hello,
I am afraid a REIT is an indirect property investment vehicle and therefore falls within the prohibition of
investing in companies mainly engaged in property investment, property management or property development
Hope this helps
