I wish to cancel my contract with BT for 'phone, TV and broadband My

Customer Question

I wish to cancel my contract with BT for 'phone, TV and broadband
My reason for this is that since having BT to provide the above is that I have not had satisfactory TV reception since the beginning of the contract, end of April 2010
BT state that I must pay them to the end of the contract, I have cooperated with them eg. advice by phone and several visits by engineers.
I protested when they wanted to start the engineer visits again beginning with someone to check the aerial, this was the first check done and I was told it was fine. I have been without watchable TV for 3 months
Is there anything that I can do to not have to pay, what I feel is that it is unreasonable as they have not kept their part of the contract

Ok. You need to write and set out they are in breach of Section 13 of the Sale and Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 by failing to act with all reasonable skill and care.
You need to write direct to BT Head office at:
Customer Service Manager
BT Customer Correspondence Centre
Providence Row
Durham
DH98 1BT
They will respond to you after investigating a formal complaint. However you are in a good position because if they want you to pay the balance they need to pursue you. Even if they do it would be a small claim if any amount is below £10,000.
You can raise the above defence at Court, if that becomes necessary.
Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?
