Does anyone have knowledge and experience with 'Lawful Development

Resolved Question:

Does anyone have knowledge and experience with 'Lawful Development Certificates'? It is where a building has been used for an alternative use and an application is then made to the LA in order to formally have its change of use recognised. Thanks

Hello and thanks for using Just Answer.

My name is ***** ***** am happy to assist you with your enquiry.

There are two types of lawful development certificate. A local planning authority can grant a certificate confirming that:

(a) an existing use of land, or some operational development, or some activity being carried out in breach of a planning condition, is lawful for planning purposes

(b) a proposed use of buildings or other land, or some operations proposed to be carried out in, on, over or under land, would be lawful for planning purposes.

I hope this clarifies the position to you.

Kind Regards

Al
