a colleague has either excluded me or verbally abused me since my arrival at my workplace two years ago. Three weeks ago he told me I was 'pure evil'; I am now taking this up as a grievance but would like some advice in the mean time as we have no union. I will argue that whatever the circumstances there is no justification for this verbal abuse as it is so extreme. I know that he has no grounds for this; he has never had any discourse with me, and in fact has avoided same. I have witnessed him bullying a student with verbal humiliation (reducing her to tears and causing her to get behind with her work). I have also had three people come to me and report his verbal abuse , and in one case physical abuse of male students in my role as Harassment Adviser, and due to a breach of confidence on the part of a colleague, have heard that he has already had one grievance lodged against him for harassment by a fellow male colleague in the past.
The whole episode since I arrived has been making life miserable and this last verbal attack has hit me considerably.
I started working there in August 2013. My specific enquiry is how best I may approach this with HR given I have nobody to represent or advise me.
