Hello - I need to lodge an appeal by Wednesday and my solicitors are too busy to help they tell me. I would like to know if you can find me an authority - a case history regarding estoppel. My defence is that if my landlords had not remained quiet and had responded to my numerous communications I would have paid the amount owed by me, which they reduced by £2500 on the day of the hearing. I believe they should have been estopped from relying on the terms of the contract because their silence led to an inequitable outcome - that is I would have owed only £5.5k but now I have to pay £60k because the terms of the break in the lease were not met. I know this is a long shot but I need to create some critical time to organise myself, which an appeal will do. Please be so kind as to let me know asap if you can help? Kind regards ***** *****
