Good afternoon,
I have a very unusual problem.
I maintain an account with Natwest and have done so for over 10 years.
I recently transferred funds from my offshore accounts into my Natwest account as I am seeking to purchase a property and was building up my equity contribution. The funds were credited to my Natwest account and I moved it into my savings account via an online transfer. With the funds in this account, I have been unable to deal with the funds as I please. My request for a transfer to joint accounts held by my wife and I in Barclays Wealth or to Access Bank (both in the UK) have been declined on the presumption that they need to do compliance checks. This has gone on for about a month. I however got the shock of my life when I went online last week Tuesday and found that the entire account line I.e my savings account has been deleted from the Natwest online and telephone banking system. I have called Natwest customer service as well as their fraud unit and all I get from them is " we cannot speak to you about your account and someone from our bank will contact you". It is one week today and no one from the bank had contacted me. I have 7 days to close this property purchase and the mortgage and fear that with the stone-walling from Natwest, the transaction might fall through.
Please tell advice me what to do with this situation.
